These Kids Today, Part Six: Old Lady Monologue
(seated, gawking at Young Woman)
These kids today, with their bare skin and their short skirts, walking around in the middle of the day, like that! I’ll bet she never even went home last night.
I used to have legs like that. But I didn’t flaunt it. I showed a little ankle, a little wrist. If these girls only knew how little it takes to get a man going!
These days, I throw on a hoody and the same Maybelline lipstick I’ve been wearing for 50 years; some cheap, gaudy jewelry that used to belong to my Aunt Sadie; and my lucky cane! Can’t forget my lucky cane. And I’m good to go.

(My apologies for the blurriness. But these photos were taken with my cell phone, on the fly, at the Starbucks on Diversey, just east of Clark/Broadway. I had to capture the moment quickly, before it passed! That’s my laptop in the bottom of the frame.)
